Time to broaden your horizons BSAC divers. The sports diver programme aims to further your diving knowledge and development by introducing you to to the use of different equipment such as DSMB’s and distance lines, improving your rescue skills and the planning and execution of both no-stop and decompression dives, including dive leading!
Day 1;
Morning
- Sports Diver Theory 1 - Sport diving Introduction to the course and the role of the sports diver within a team.
- Sports Diver Theory 2 - Diver Rescue Expanding knowledge with regard to diver rescue and the role of sports diver within that framework.
- Sports Diver Theory 3 - Equipment and Techniques Introducing new equipment and their role within different types of diving.
Afternoon
- Sheltered Water Lesson – Rescue Skills Practice in a confined environment of CBL’s, towing and provision of Rescue Breaths to unconcious divers on the surface.
- Open Water Lesson 1 – (Optional Refresher) or Rescue Skills (6m)
- Sports Diver Practical Lesson (Dry) – Assistant Dive Manager.
Day 2;
Morning
- Sports Diver Theory 4 - Deeper diving Learning the effects of different gases such as Oxygen and Nitrogen under pressure and potential problems at increased depth.
- Sports Diver Theory 5 – Breathing gas planning The importance of gas planning and the nessecity of a suitable reserve with which to return to the surface.
- Sports Diver Theory 6 – Going Diving The role of the dive leader and an introdution to rebreathers as well as futher options for continuing your dive career.
Afternoon
- Open Water Lesson 2 – SMB Dive The use of and hazards when using an SMB on a dive. (15-20m)
- Open Water lesson 3 - Simulated Decompression Dive Planning and conduct on a dive with simulated decompression and the use of distance lines. (12-20m)
Day 3;
Morning
- Sports Diver Theory Assesment – Short exam on topics covered in theory lessons.
Afternoon
- Open Water Lesson 4 – Compass and DSMB Dive Covering the following of bearings using a compass and the use of DSMB to mark position on dive. (15-20m)
- Open Water Lesson 5 – Dive Leading The planning, preparation, briefing and leading of a dive. (15-20m)
- Certification and logging of dives.
Day 4;
- Depth Experience Dive 25m (optional)
- Depth Experience Dive 30m (optional)
Day 5;
- Depth Experience Dive 35m (optional)
Course Price: THB 11,500
Depth Experience Dives: THB 2,000 per dive
Part 2; 20 logged dives THB 14,000 or THB 700 per dive
